Random Derry photos

Here are a few additional photos we took while in Derry.

The Craft Village (Foyle's bookstore is on the right):

Matt checking out the plaque for the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall:

Chimney pots:

Interesting buildings:

Rooftops from the Tower Museum (highly recommended!). The building with the green roof in the background is Austin's Department Store, 1830--the oldest department store in the world; the church spire belongs to St. Columb's Cathedral:

A gate in the city wall with the Guildhall in the background:

Manannan Mac Lir, a major god in Celtic mythology whose realm is the mouth of Lough Foyle. By the way, he is carved from Oregon Pine reclaimed from Lisahally jetties of the WWII era.

The Foyleside shopping center, inside the wall:

The Diamond War Memorial, dedicated to the Derry soldiers killed in WWI:

Walking the walls, with another view of the Guildhall in the background:

Hello from the Craft Village!
